Does
It's clear that I need to capture more "official" photos of my lovely ladies. Truthfully, my mamas are pretty darn perfect!
Photographing goats in general is very challenging. They are often on the move, and if they are resting then they are chewing their cud which can make for some pretty funny faces. If we are going to be a "real farm" then I need to take the time to set up shots that will show off just how great these girls are.

Lilly
Rebelwood GJ Bramble Beautiful blue-eyed Lilly is BY FAR the the most vocal goat in my herd. Her cry for attention is piercing and doesn't even sound like a goat baa - it's more of a human scream. We find it adorable, and our neighbors claim they don't mind. Hopefully they are telling the truth because we couldn't love her more. Her pedigree is outstanding and it shows. Lilly started out as fairly timid but has grown up to be a confident and friendly goof ball. She is super snuggly and loves to be scratched. Oddly she seems ambivalent about her grain, and she takes forever to finish her bowl. Butternut
Rebelwood GJ Butternut Butternut is a free spirit. If a goat could be a hippie then I'm certain Butternut would drive a VW van and wear flowers in her hair. She isn't timid but she seems content being low-man in the herd. You can find Nutty off by herself in some far corner of the pen, nibbling at grasses and weeds. She is our only goat that seems to enjoy being away from the herd on the end of a leash as long as I let her graze - her stomach is by far the most distended at the end of the day. She is simply a sweetheart. |
Annabelle
Weberwood Acres Annabelle Gorgeous Annabelle, also known as "Princess", is an elegant little girl from one of my favorite farms. She is very friendly, curious, and sweet, and she likes to play with her grain bowl as she waits for Lilly to finish her own grain. She is a very confident doe with excellent lines and conformation, and her markings are spectacular. Annabelle really is a special goat. |
